Biography

: Dr. Sanhita Sarmah was born in Jorhat in the year 1967. She completed her graduation (B.sc honours) from J.B College and further went on to pursue her Masters in Statistics from Dibrugarh University in the year (1991-1992). She was a faculty member of the department of Statistics in Bahona College, Jorhat from the year 1993-1995. She joined Jorhat Kendriya Mahavidyalaya in the year 1995 and went on to become the founding teacher of the Department of Statistics here. She was holding the post of HOD for the period of 26 years w.e.f 1995 to April 2021. She attained her M. Phil degree in the year 1997 and received the prestigious Ph. d degree from Dibrugarh University in the year 2016. Her research interest includes experimental design and econometrics.
She holds 28 years of teaching experience and has been an active member in various academic and non-academic activities. She holds the district record for being the Champion Badminton player for three consecutive years in Annual Teachers Meet and has been a daily and weekly contributor for many regional newspapers and magazines.

Institutional Cooperate Responsibility

As a Founder teacher in the Dept. Of Statistics she has been dutiful to the college and has rendered her duties as class advisor , Assistant Zonal Officer of Degree Examination, In- Charge of Departmental Field Study, Supervisor of Project Report, Participated in Teacher’s Meet and being the Badminton Champion for three consecutive years, Member of Publication Cell in 2012, Disciplinary committee, Internal Complaint Committee and Sexual Harassment Committee and worked as External examiner of Practical Exam. in different colleges for several times.
